As well as running two training sessions a week for Enfield Water Polo Club at Southgate on Wednesdays and Waltham Forest on Fridays, Martin is a familiar face at pools across the capital as he dedicates his free time to water polo coaching and swimming teaching.

The award is fully deserved as it acknowledges the decades of dedication Martin has shown to the sport and also the success he has achieved, which includes coaching a young Enfield team to victory at the London Youth Games.

After lifting the trophy, Martin commented, “Enfield Water Polo Club would not be doing so well if it was not for all the people behind the scenes that work so hard and give up their time to keep the club going.”

“The award is not just for me, it is for all of us.”

“A big thank you also to Andy Briers for nominating me, and a special thanks to my wife, Helen, for letting me out so much to do the sport I love.”

Enfield Water Polo Club would like to be one of the first to congratulate Martin and we look forward to toasting his success after next Wednesday’s 1sts v 2nds London Water Polo Winter League derby at Southgate.
