Coronavirus cancels all Enfield WPC training and matches

At present, the Government’s advice is that any activity which could be described as a “public gathering” is to be avoided and Swim England’s interpretation of this is they strongly advise against any club activity, including training.

The London Water Polo League has already suspended all competitive games until further notice.

We therefore are following suit and cancelling our Wednesday sessions at Southgate Leisure Centre, and any planned games at QE Boys School on Mondays with immediate effect.

This is to help stop the spread of coronavirus and to aid the slow recovery process our society now faces.

The committee is monitoring the situation closely, although we expect to remain closed until at least the end of May.

If the Government’s or Swim England’s advice changes at any point, we will update this page and members accordingly.

We have not yet been able to confirm what our financial commitment at Southgate Leisure Centre is regarding pool hire costs, but it is understandable if members want to cancel their Standing Orders for April and May.

If any senior members are able to leave their payments running, it would be very much appreciated and help keep the club afloat during what will be a very turbulent few months for us all.

If anybody has any further queries, please do get in touch with anyone on our contacts page and we will try and help.

Stay safe and see you in a few months.

Best wishes from everyone at Enfield Water Polo Club
